Faux Pearl Techn{ink}

Hi Friends... Thank you for joining me for todays
Techn{ink} Tuesday
Faux Pearl

I thought this would be a perfect Techn{ink} to try out.
hand colored using Handy Dandy Stampin Up Markers and Chalk but
after a little drying it took less than 10 minutes.

Here you go...

After stamping my image and hand coloring each detail
I took a small amount of Shimmer Paint in Frost White (#116806)
and using my homemade contraption of plastic wrap and a clothespin (giggle)

I began to dob lightly onto my stamped image
covering every nook and cranny.
I tried to tip the Shimmered image so you can see the Pearl effect.
**Allow to completely dry before building the remainder of your card**
Your colored image will now display a bit lighter once the Pearl takes affect

The image on the left shows the difference in the softened color now
that the pearl has dried.
(You can probably see our wedding photo in the background)
Image on the right shows the pearl in the light.
SO PRETTY!!!!

Here's an enhanced image to show all the details.
I'm proud of how it came out. Just sitting today to play with my "toys"
added a few embellishments and I think it makes a perfect wedding card.

Joy Fold Filled Thrills

Happy Hootin Tootin Thursday!!!

There are TONS of birthdays coming my
way in the month of August so I found this a perfect opportunity
to turn up the notch and show you how to make this
Joy Fold Fun card for our Thursday Thrill

I think its a great way to break away from the normally
displayed cards and show something
down right Fun Folded! (giggles)

~ I also included a video tutorial at the end of this Post to better assist you ~

Taking a clean piece of 8 1/2 x 11 Not Quite Navy #101722 and
cut down to 4" x 8 1/2". Score at 5 1/2" and fold. Set Aside

Next, using the remaining piece of Not Quite Navy Cardstock
cut down to 3" x 8" and Score at 4". Set Aside

Taking your chosen DSP (Inside the card I used a striped piece
of Razzleberry Designer Series Paper #117155) and cut down to 5" x 3 3/4"

On the exterior of the card (above) I used International Bazaar Designer
Series Paper #126920 and cut down to 2 3/4" x 3 3/4".
The solid piece of Lucky Limeade #122926 was cut down
to 2 3/4 x 3 3/4" as well and added to the exterior of the smaller card.

All in the details.... you see I added a Birthday Sentiment on the interior of the
card in Rich Razzleberry ink #126950 and included some
Brights Glimmer Brads #121006.
On the front I attached some balloons and twine in Cherry Cobbler #123125

I figured.... I couldn't JUST make ONE, so I attached another lil guy
on some little treats I will give to my sister with her present.
He's So Cute, you wanna Just Eat 'Em UP!!
...Well at least the candies, they would probably taste better! (Buhuuhahaha)

Faux Silk-For YOU!

Hi Friends... Todays Techn{ink} Tuesday
Faux Silk

This Techn{ink} took less than 2 minutes and although I was a
little uncertain about it in the beginning, Im so excited about how it came out.

Lets get started

First you will take a clean piece of Tissue Paper and cut it down
to the dimension you will need, I used a 5" x 5 1/2"

You can use which ever stamp you would like, but
here I used Music Notes (#120327) with
a little help from my Stampin Around Handle (#102971)
and dipped into More Mustard (#126964)

Once that was dried I crinkled and wrinkled it into the little ball you see
I unwrapped and did it a couple times to get my Tissue Paper
very wrinkled

I simply unwrapped the Tissue Paper
**do not flatten and roughen out any wrinkles**
and I adhered to my 4 1/2" x 5" Very Vanilla cardstock
using my Glue Stick (#104045)

Once this was done, placing the card upside down to avoid ripping
I trimmed this portion of my card to its final size of 3 3/4" x 5"
using my Stampin Trimmer (#126889)

After adding a few embellishments, I attached to a final cardstock
of Not Quite Navy (#101722) cut to 8" x 5 1/2" and folded in half

Heres our final card and I enhanced the photo a bit to show the Faux Silk Detail.
I think it came out quite beautiful. This card just sings to me,
I hope you enjoyed this quick
Tuesday Techn{ink}

Monday Mailers Make Me HAPPY

Hey Y'all!!!

I'm so glad to see you back
I hope you had a nice weekend!

I was so surprised and delighted to receive
the following Suprise Mailer I just got in the mail
from a fellow Demo and just had to share

My friend, and a willing participant of a R.A.K
{Random Act of Kindness},
showered me with such a loving package of
cards and treats that she wanted to share with me...
Just Because

It completely made my day to receive
such a generous and heartfelt "Hug with A Fold in the Middle"
that I thought I would share.
When was the last time you sent a card just because?
Its not too late, send your R.A.K
and make someone's day too

Friday Fun Tutorial Part 3

Hello!!! Im so glad to see your back for
Part 3
of my
Friday Fun Tutorial

Last week ended by learning the helpful and creative ways
on how to select the right Ink colors.

Today I wanted to show you a small yet useful tip
that could help you on your next project.

**In order to better understand what I'm
presenting you, I will be enlarging these images so you can
more clearly, I hope **

Can you see a difference between these two images? The piece on the right
is more vivid in color compared to the piece on the left.
Why? I wanted to add a Distressing Techn{ink} to
show more of an aged effect on my card.

How did I do this? I took the Sanding Block from my
Stampin Sanding System (#129367)
and began to rub the edges and my paper to the desired level of distressing.
What a little difference a little Sanding can make, right?

Here's and upclose of the paper on my card in its Original state,
in the center you see it in its Sanded form and
NOW..... to the far right.... I wanted to show you how it would look if you took
the Sanded form, and by using a lightly inked Sponge Dobber (#101610)
in the Ink Color we chose last week (Crumb Cake #126975),
how it would really warm and change up the entire appearance.
I applied this Sanded and Sponge Techn{ink} to each layer on my card.

Not too shabby, right?
Well.... maybe it is a little Shabby Chic but you know that's how I roll!!! :)

Again, here is the Original versus the Distress and Antiqued final product.
I even took my Round Corner Edge Punch to softened the edges on my front cardstock.

So there you have it class our Final Product. I think it came out wonderfully.
Don't you think? Any questions class?

Have you tried this Distress and Antique Techn{ink}?
If not, you should really try it sometime. In some situations it just may do wonders
for the project you are currently working on.

And don't forget to
send me your before and after!

***Email me your before and after card to NikkiSapien@Gmail.com***
I will enter everyone
who submits their cards in an email into a drawing
for a free stamp and ink of my choice!
**A FREE STAMP AND INK AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS EMAIL
ME YOUR BEFORE AND AFTER CARD
ALONG WITH YOUR CONTACT INFO**

So, come on ... Stamp, Snap a photo and Click Send...

There is one more class left... so that is 5 days left to send in your entries.

Happy Stampin

Thursday Thrill

Did you know that you can hire me to help make finished projects for you? That is exactly what Erin and Yvette asked me to help them do.  With busy working schedules I was asked to help create invitations and treat bags for their children's birthday party! I simply asked what designs or themes they were seeking and provided color choices and designs for them to choose. I estimated my time and materials to complete these projects and off we went!

Would you like to have a Happy Birthday Party too, but just don't have the time or right supplies to kreate your own? When you Contact Me to kreate your party invitations, favors, thank you cards, baby announcements and/or shower invitations that is what I will do.  I will work with you to help your event go smoothly and less stressful.

Would you like a kit to make your own? I can also work up samples and instructions for you and provide the materials for you to make your very own! I'll let you know which tools of your own you'll need to stamp, punch, and finish your goodies which you can order from me and have shipped straight to your door.
You wont have to call for technical support either... I am here for you so that your project purchased from me is a hit!

So whether you would like a completely finished project or a kit to do it yourself, please dont hesitate to contact me! Maybe you've seen a specific project I've made here on my blog or you have some other inspiration to show me... email me and we'll work it out together!

Kreatively Yours,

Nikki S
